WXPR is an independent, community-licensed public radio station based in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Founded in 1983 and operated by White Pine Community Broadcasting, Inc., a nonprofit educational corporation, it is an NPR member station serving eight counties across northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula from studios at 28 North Stevens Street in downtown Rhinelander.

The station broadcasts at 91.7 FM from Rhinelander, reaching about a 70 mile radius, with a translator at 100.9 FM for the Ironwood, Michigan area and a shared-time signal, WXPW 91.9 FM, in Wausau. WXPR carries programming from NPR, American Public Media, PRX and Native Voice One alongside its own local news, and scores of volunteer hosts produce about 70 hours of local music programming each week, from classical, jazz and blues to folk, bluegrass, polka and traditional country.

Local news is a station priority. WXPR's newsroom covers the Northwoods through daily reporting, features, podcasts and community forums, hosts a Report for America reporter covering water quality and the environment, and since January 2026 has shared reporting with WUWM and Wisconsin Public Radio through the Wisconsin News Collaborative. The station is governed by a 12 member volunteer board of directors, half of it elected by the membership.

WXPR's small staff works in news and reporting, on-air hosting, membership, underwriting and development, digital engagement and finance, operations and technology, and volunteer coordination, alongside a large corps of volunteer hosts.
