WUCF

WUCF is Central Florida's PBS station and home of WUCF Jazz 89.9 FM, owned and run by the University of Central Florida from studios on its Orlando campus.

WUCF is the public media station of the University of Central Florida in Orlando. It operates WUCF PBS (WUCF-TV, channel 24), the PBS member station for Central Florida, and WUCF Jazz (WUCF-FM 89.9), a listener-supported jazz and blues radio station. Both are owned and run by the university from studios on Research Parkway on the UCF campus, and the station calls itself Central Florida's Storyteller.

UCF began carrying PBS programming for Central Florida in July 2011 through a partnership with Brevard Community College, then acquired the channel 24 license from the former WMFE-TV. Channel 24 became WUCF-TV on November 15, 2012. WUCF is a separate organization from Central Florida Public Media, which operates WMFE-FM.

WUCF offers five television channels and two jazz radio services, 89.9 FM and Latin Jazz on WUCF HD2, along with streaming, the PBS app and podcasts. Local productions include the statewide series Florida Road Trip and Arts in Action. Its education work, including PBS KIDS, On My Way to K and Meet the Helpers, serves children, families and educators across the region at no cost. WUCF Jazz streams around the clock and airs local hosts, live studio performances and weather updates from the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network.

WUCF staff work in television studio and field production, promotions and digital content, education and community engagement, corporate partnerships and membership, radio programming, broadcast engineering and IT. Openings are listed on the WUCF careers page and posted through UCF's hiring system. The station also offers internships every semester and a practicum class for UCF students.
