KUVO Jazz

KUVO Jazz is a listener-supported public radio station in Denver, on the air since 1985 with jazz, Latin jazz and blues on 89.3 FM and online. It is part of Rocky Mountain Public Media, home of Rocky Mountain PBS and The Drop 104.7.

KUVO Jazz (KUVO 89.3 FM) is a noncommercial public radio station in Denver, Colorado, that signed on in August 1985. It broadcasts jazz, Latin jazz and blues alongside locally produced, culturally diverse programs, selected NPR and syndicated shows, and live sessions from its own performance studio, and it has long called itself "The Oasis in the City." The station is listener-supported and does not air advertising.

KUVO was founded by Denver Educational Broadcasting to serve Denver's Hispanic community, and it has long shared the news and accomplishments of Hispanic and other local communities on air. In April 2013 it merged with Rocky Mountain PBS, and both are now part of Rocky Mountain Public Media, the Denver nonprofit that holds KUVO's license and also runs The Drop 104.7. Since July 2020 KUVO has broadcast from the Koelbel KUVO Studio in the Buell Public Media Center at 2101 Arapahoe Street, which it shares with Rocky Mountain PBS and The Drop.

KUVO serves the Denver metro area on 89.3 FM and Summit County through its sister signal KVJZ, and reaches listeners worldwide through its website stream and the KUVO app. Its HD Radio channels carry The Drop 104.7 and Denver Open Media, a channel of local artists run with the Open Media Foundation. The station hosts local artists and student jazz bands in its performance studio.

KUVO's jobs are posted on Rocky Mountain Public Media's careers site. Station roles span music hosting and production, digital and social media storytelling, community engagement and events, and membership fundraising, with engineering, programming and business functions shared across Rocky Mountain Public Media.
