WKNO is the public media organization for Memphis and the Mid-South. It operates PBS member station WKNO-TV Channel 10 and NPR member station WKNO-FM 91.1, both owned and operated by the Mid-South Public Communications Foundation, a nonprofit community licensee governed by an all-volunteer, self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. The stations share studios on Cherry Farms Road in Cordova, Tennessee, where they moved in 2009 after decades on and near the Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) campus.

WKNO-TV signed on June 25, 1956, as the first educational television station in Tennessee, and has been owned by a community licensee from the start. It broadcasts three channels: WKNO on 10.1, WKNO2 on 10.2 and WKNO KIDS (PBS KIDS) on 10.3, and it produces local programs on issues that matter to the Memphis area alongside national PBS programming.

WKNO-FM went on the air in 1971. With its Jackson, Tennessee, sister station WKNP 90.1, it serves West Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, northwestern Mississippi and the Missouri Bootheel with news and information from NPR and other national networks, together with local fine arts and classical music programming.

WKNO describes its mission as creating and presenting both unique local and national content for television, radio and digital media. Its stated values include being a steward of the public trust, seeking diversity and excellence in people, ideas and services, and building relationships in the community. Its work spans television and radio production, local programming, broadcast operations, membership, sponsorship and administration. Openings are posted on the WKNO Employment page at wkno.org.
