Livingston Associates
Public Media's People. Executive search, strategic planning, and leadership coaching for public radio and television stations, universities, and mission-based nonprofits since 1997.
Livingston Associates was founded in 1997 to do one thing well: help public media organizations find, develop, and keep the leaders they need. Nearly three decades later, that focus has not changed.
The firm serves public media stations, universities, and mission-based nonprofits in three closely linked disciplines: executive search, strategic planning, and leadership coaching. Every engagement is led by a senior partner who serves as the client's single point of accountability from kickoff through start date.
When Livingston Associates incorporated in 1997, no firm was offering comprehensive executive search to public radio. The firm built that practice from the ground up, along with the field's leading resume database. Since then it has led more than 400 searches for stations, networks, and licensee universities, with over 175 at the executive level, and landmark strategic studies on joint-licensee operations, cross-platform promotion, and the financial sustainability of mid-market stations.
Inclusive recruiting is rigorous recruiting. Every Livingston search is designed to surface candidates from across the field by recruiting broadly, applying structured and consistent screening, and partnering with affinity networks in public radio and television.
