KNAU Arizona Public Radio is an NPR member station based in Flagstaff, Arizona, and a public service of Northern Arizona University, which holds its license. Its stated mission is to be a source of balanced, accurate information, civilized discourse and cultural inspiration in northern Arizona, reflecting the distinctive qualities of the region.

The station runs two program services. News and Talk is heard on 91.7 FM in Flagstaff and on signals serving Cottonwood and the Verde Valley, Grand Canyon, Page and Prescott. Classical Music and News airs on KNAU 88.7 FM in Flagstaff and Sedona and on KNAA 90.7 FM in Show Low and the White Mountains, with translators serving Cottonwood, Kingman, Payson, Prescott and Vernon. Together the signals reach from Kingman in the west to Ganado in the east, and from Grand Canyon Village and Page south to the edge of the Phoenix metro area, including the Navajo and Hopi reservations. Programming from NPR, American Public Media and other providers airs alongside the station's own regional newscasts and its daily podcast, KNAU Local News Now.

Broadcasting at Northern Arizona University began in 1962 with a student-run campus station. The FM station signed on in December 1970 as KAXR and became KNAU in 1980. In 1983 it grew into a regional public radio station with a 100,000-watt signal, NPR programming and its first news director. KNAU has since built 13 transmitters, moved to studios on NAU's South Campus in 1998 and split off its talk service in 2001. Its news department has won dozens of Edward R. Murrow Awards. In fiscal year 2021 the station reported revenue of $3.14 million and 4,238 members.

KNAU hires through Northern Arizona University: its employment page sends applicants to NAU's job openings at careers.nau.edu. Its work spans regional news reporting and hosting, news and classical programming, membership and underwriting support, and engineering for a transmitter network that covers much of northern Arizona.
